Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Moscow earlier Friday on a two-day visit to Russia to attend celebrations marking Victory Day.
Sisi was received at the airport by Russian deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Egyptian Ambassador here Mohamed el Badri and embassy staffers.
Accompanying Sisi on the visit is Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
Sisi is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to follow up the outcome of the latter's visit to Cairo in February.
Besides Sisi, the presidents of China, India and South Africa will be attending the Victory Day celebrations.
Presidents of a number of European and Latin American countries will also be present, as well as the UN secretary general.
Sisi will also attend a dinner banquet that Putin will hold Friday evening in honor of the heads of state attending the celebrations.
