H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID or EIDA) has emphasised that the Authority will spare no effort to back the Federal National Council (FNC) elections to be held on 3 October.
Speaking during a meeting of the new board of Emirates ID, H.H. Sheikh Hazza underscored the effective role the Authority plays in the UAE's progress in various spheres, the government services and the shift to smart government in particular.
This is the first meeting of the new board of Emirates ID in 2015 after President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan reconstituted it by virtue of Federal Decree No. 56 for 2015.
H.H. Sheikh Hazza noted that the elections require Emirates ID to mobilise all its capabilities to support the process which he described as a national celebration with the new smart application, the National Election Committee (NEC) app, launched recently to offer an interactive platform for the FNC elections where voters should use their Emirates ID cards.
He also underscored the importance of the Authority's vital work towards completing electronic linkage with all other authorities in the country.
He urged concerned departments to redouble their efforts to complete the vital projects to enhance real-time data exchange, simplify services in the private and public sectors, streamline procedures, reduce costs and provide citizens and expatriates excellent, secure and effective services that meet international standards.
During the meeting, the board discussed the 2014-2015 budget, the use of procedures of institutional governance in all projects and the application of regulations for federal human resources.
The Emirates ID's board members who attended the meeting were: Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour; Ahmed Mohmmed Al Hemairi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Mohammed Ahmed Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy; Staff Major General Eisa Saif Al Mazrouie, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Major General Awadh Hadher Al Mehairi; Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi; and Saeed Abdullah Al Ghafli, Director-General of Emirates Identity Authority.
