What I heard yesterday evening from Prime Minister Saad Hariri is reassuring, and I myself have been reassured," Maronite Patriarchate Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi said before heading to the KSA on Monday.
Touching on his historical visit to the KSA, Rahi confirmed that correspondence between the Maronite Patriarchate and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had never been interrupted throughout history. However, Rahi described his visit as "the first of its kind."
"I salute Saudi Minister Walid Bukhari for his presence and communications preparing my visit to Saudi Arabia. We hope this visit will benefit Lebanon at all levels," Rahi said.
"The Kingdom has long supported Lebanon, and I do not think it will deport Lebanese people residing in the KSA. Relations between us are based on friendship and brotherhood," Rahi concluded
