Minister of Justice, Shakib Qortbawi, stressed the autonomy of the Lebanese judicial system vis-a-vis inappropriate interventions in a public statement issued today. He predicated the guarantee of the interest of all Lebanese on such an autonomy and added that the judicial process must remain divorced from polarizations and debates. He duly urged all politicians to desist from dealing with relevant judicial files outside the courts and that judges and magistrates must do the same. The Minister also pleaded with mainstream medias to deal sensibly with standing judicial issues. He concluded that proper functioning of Lebanese judicial system constitutes a precondition for the rise of a nation-state based on justice and the rule of law to which all Lebanese patriots must aspire.
