Kuwaiti Prime Minister HH Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will represent the Amir His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) where he will deliver a speech on September 26.
The Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the UN, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that there will be several events on the sidelines of the high-level week and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will hold bilateral meetings with top UN officials.
Al-Otaibi noted that there will be many other meetings in which Kuwait will participate at as a member of the Security Council for this year, where the Security Council will hold two meetings in September under the leadership of the US, one led by US President Donald J. Trump and another by US Secretary of State.
The Kuwaiti delegation will also take part in discussing the Syrian and Yemeni crises and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees' (UNRWA) financial situation, Al-Otaibi said.
The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly will discuss economic growth and strengthening the role of peacekeeping operations, human rights, Africa's development, the fight against terrorism and other important topics.
