Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr chaired a workshop Tuesday to assess the effectiveness of financial resources allocated for development.
The workshop particularly focused on how to develop and market agricultural products.
It tackled tools and mechanisms by which to achieve a stronger link between young farmers and local and international markets.
Nasr said her Ministry is acting to achieve integration between financial resources and investments meant to achieve sustainable development in Egypt.
This, she added, should be done through paying better attention to fields that bring in more income and secure jobs for citizens.
The Investment and International Cooperation Ministry is keen on boosting cooperation with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to support the agricultural sector in Egypt, Nasr said.
She talked about support to upgrade the financial potentials of the sector, as well as efforts to improve the Egyptian agricultural products.
The workshop also shed light on the role played by the private sector to encourage farmers and upgrade their productivity.
