Ambassador Moshira Khattab, the Egyptian nominee for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is to pay a visit on Wednesday to France.

During her stay, she will meet with a number of French officials and member states at the executive council of UNESCO. 

The Egyptian candidate has made a tour around several states during the past few weeks to gain their support for her nomination to the high-profile position, Ambassador Nehad Abdul Lattif, Director of the electoral campaign for Khattab said. 

During her tour of Venezuela, Khattab has convened with several ministers and senior officials at the UNESCO’s executive council on the sidelines of the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, Abdul Lattif added.

For their part, the UNESCO’s executive council officials have welcomed Khattab nomination for the post and hailed her experience and accomplishments that qualify her to win the prestigious international position, Abdul Lattif asserted. 

Furthermore, the Egyptian nominee has gathered with a raft of ministers and high-profile officials on the fringe of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, Abdul Lattif noted.

Khattab seek through those meetings to get acquainted with priorities and interests of different countries with regard to the UNESCO’s work areas, according to Abdul Lattif 

In a related context, Khattab has paid a visit to Washington where she met with a number of senior officials within the US administration and a group of figures close to decision-making circles from the Republican and Democratic parties and research centers specialized in the fields of education, culture and human heritage.
