Mohamed bin Zayed visits Dubai Airshow 2017

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Sunday visited the 15th Dubai Airshow at the Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai World Central.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed toured the show and met officials of the participating companies and pavilions. He was briefed on the plans, modernisation programmes and developments carried out by international companies in the aviation industry.

While visiting the Russian pavilion, Sheikh Mohamed met Dmitry Olegovich Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and discussed co-operation ties between the two countries and ways to enhance them in the best interest of the two sides.

They also exchanged views on the importance of the Dubai Airshow as it is considered one of the most successful international exhibitions specialising in civil and military aviation. He also learned from the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia about the participating Russian exhibits, especially with regards to modern warplanes and advanced defence industries.

At the pavilion of the Emirates Defence Industries Company, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed met Marillyn Hewson, CEO of Lockheed Martin. They exchanged views on the company's participation and the latest global developments and modernisation of defence systems.

During the meetings, Sheikh Mohamed wished the participants success and hoped they can benefit from the capabilities provided by the show and the event held on its sidelines.

Sheikh Mohamed said, "With each new session of the show, we see an increase in the volume of development and excellence at the organisational and efficiency levels, or in terms of the number of countries and companies participating in the event.'' The Dubai Airshow is a world-class event that brings together aviation stakeholders from all over the world. It is one of the world's largest and most successful international aviation industry exhibitions and an ideal global platform to showcase the latest products and technologies in the aviation industry, Sheikh Mohamed added.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan; Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince’s Court of Abu Dhabi, and a number of officials.
