His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Dalia Grybauskaite, President of the Republic of Lithuania, at the Al Mushrif Palace today.
The official reception ceremonies were held at the palace court upon the arrival of the Lithuanian President as she and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed headed to the honour platform. The national anthems of Lithuania and the UAE were played, while the artillery accorded a 21-gun salute to the guest.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and the Lithuanian President held a deliberation session, where he welcomed Grybauskaite and her delegation, expressing his happiness over the visit, hoping that it would contribute to advancing and developing bilateral co-operation.
During the session, there was a discussion on the friendship and co-operation relations between the UAE and Lithuania in various fields and the means to develop and support these relations for the common interests of both the countries and their people.
Both sides discussed the bilateral relations and the importance of their development in the economic, commercial, and investment fields, especially in the area of renewable energy, advanced technology, innovation and agriculture. They also demonstrated the opportunities for co-operation and joint projects in keeping with the economic and investment climate in both the countries.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed expressed his happiness at the development and progress in the relations with Lithuania thanks to the efforts being made by the leadership of both countries and their sustained efforts to strengthen them in various fields.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed stated that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had a high stature among the world’s developed countries thanks to its approach to co-operation, understanding, mutual respect and commitment to its humanitarian responsibility.
The Lithuanian President expressed her happiness over the visit to the UAE, which was her first, and appreciated the economic and civilisational growth of the country.
She pointed out that the purpose of her visit to the country was to empower and consolidate the relations of friendship between the two countries and find new opportunities for co-operation in the joint projects that would serve both sides.
She expressed her thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality which she and her companions had received, as well as her happiness over meeting H.H. Sheikh Mohamed.
