Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, and Advisor to Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, opened the 6th National Show For Society Awareness & Humanitarian Services (Taweya) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, on Monday.
Being held from 30th October to 1st November under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Taweya is the main annual event in UAE that represents the goals of the Cohesion Initiative by supporting the society awareness, volunteering and humanitarian services.
Nearly 25 governmental and non-governmental organisations are participating in the event which is organised by Al Hader Exhibitions and Conferences.
Taweya seeks to spread the culture of volunteering and initiative spirit in the society; introducing the volunteering organisations and showing their services; encouraging and honoring the pioneers in volunteering and humanitarian efforts in the society.
