His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who extended sincerest thanks and appreciation to him for his support to the joint security drill –"Gulf Security 1", hosted recently by the kingdom, with the participation of an elite of security forces from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
HRH Premier stressed that security is an essential pre-requisite for every development effort, highlighting the importance of joint GCC security drills in enhancing the capabilities of the GCC security authorities to deal with various security situations and circumstances.
GCC security is indivisible, and the challenges and threats surrounding the region require vigilance, caution and maximum levels of coordination and readiness in order to maintain the security of GCC countries and peoples, the Premier said, adding that the joint security drill embodied the existing cohesion and complementarity among GCC states and the common destiny and goals bonding them.
HRH the Prime Minister reiterated the Kingdom's full-fledged support to every move aimed at cementing complementarity and unity among GCC countries, calling for the need to go ahead with steps to set up the Gulf Union, and speed up steps that strengthen the pillars of GCC cooperation to maintain common gains.
HRH Premier lauded the advanced level of the competence and readiness showcased by the participants throughout the joint exercise, which, he said, reflects the directives of the GCC leaders.
The Interior Minister extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his support to efforts to enhance the security capabilities of GCC countries, as part of his endeavours to push complementarity steps among GCC countries in order to safeguard their security and stability.
The minister also lauded the Prime Minister's sound directives and constant support to the Interior Ministry and all its affiliates in order to be assume their national responsibilities of reinforcing security and stability.
