During a tour in the southern region of the kingdom, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid a visit to Gravity Indoor Skydiving team. He was accompanied by Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
On arrival, HM the King was welcomed by Interior Ministry Undersecretary for National, Passports and Residence Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Board Chairman of Gravity Company Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, officials and the team affiliates.
HM King Hamad congratulated Gravity Indoor Skydiving Team on their honourable achievements and on winning the gold medal in Flight Fighters 2017 which was hosted recently by Bahrain with the participation of more than 60 male and female players from around the world. He lauded performance of the players and the efforts of the technical and administrative staff to honour Bahrain in such sporting events. He also hailed Bahrain’s pioneering role in hosting various international sporting championships, praising the remarkable development of air sports in the kingdom.
HM King Hamad commended the efforts made by BOC, under the presidency of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to develop various sports and encourage Bahraini athletes to participate in them. He wished all every success in the 3rd World Indoor Skydiving Championship which will be hosted by Bahrain next year. Then, HM the King toured Gravity Village and met with a number of citizens and visitors who expressed their happiness about meeting HM the King. HM King Hamad praised the role of such tourist facilities in backing tourism in Bahrain.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa and the team members of Gravity Indoor Skydiving extended heartfelt congratulations to HM the King on the advent of the National Day and Accession Day, wishing him a happy return of the occasion, abundant health and a long life. They also wished Bahrain and its people more progress and prosperity.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the visit and briefed him about the sporting, recreational and touristic services. He stressed the positive impact of the visit in boosting the sporting and touristic role of the facility. He affirmed that the royal directives will serve as a beacon for Gravity team to develop the indoor skydiving sport in Bahrain and promoting Bahrain’s regional standing in it.
