Beirut , Lebanon - Arab Today
The leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said on Sunday his party’s members of parliament would vote for General Michel Aoun, a Hezbollah ally, to become president of Lebanon at a parliamentary session at the end of October.
Lebanon has been without a president for more than two years, leading to breakdowns in many basic services and raising fears of future unrest.
Lebanon’s former prime minister Saad Al-Hariri said on Thursday he would back Aoun to be president.
