Minister Thomas de maiziere

German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere visited Afghanistan Monday to discuss the issue of Afghans seeking asylum in Germany.

In statements Monday carried by DW, De Maizière said many Afghans seeking asylum in Germany will be sent home, especially Afghan youths who are fleeing their country to seek better economic prospects.

The German minister stressed that smugglers were making money in Afghanistan by "spreading rumours of paradise-like conditions in Germany."

Afghans without protection standpoint in Germany could possibly get a starting balance, in purchase to rebuild a life in Afghanistan, he added.
