President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has bestowed on Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, GAIAE, the Order of the Two Niles First Class, the country's highest national decoration.
The honouring comes in recognition of the GAIAE's efforts and initiatives for the promotion of religious discourse with the aim of promoting a culture of tolerance and moderation in communities.
In a statement on the occasion, Dr. Al Kaabi said that the order is an honour for the UAE, its leadership and government, and the culmination of the efforts of fruitful cooperation between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
