Former Quartet Representative to the Middle East Tony Blair left here late on Sunday after a fleeting visit to the Egyptian capital.

Blair, who doubles as Chairman of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, left Cairo for Tel Aviv.

During his several-hour visit, Blair met with a number of officials to discuss the latest developments in the region, notably the Palestinian cause.
