Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry

Visiting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry opened on Friday the Egyptian-Austrian business forum.

The forum took up means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade domains, as well as boosting Austrian investments in Egypt.

The forum was attended by a galaxy of Austrian officials, including the head of Austrian president's office and vice president of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

Over 50 Austrian businessmen and representatives of companies operating in various economic and trade fields in both countries were present at the meeting as well.

Delivering his inaugural speech, Shoukry underlined the strength of relations between the two countries in political and economic fields.

Highlighting the wide-array opportunities of bilateral cooperation, the Egyptian top diplomat touched upon the efforts being exerted by the government to push forward economic growth in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's 2030 sustainable development strategy .

He went on shedding light on major economic and development projects being implemented by Egypt, topped by Suez Canal Axis Development project and Golden Triangle development project in Upper Egypt.

Meanwhile, the vice president Austrian Federal Economic Chamber assured the necessity of bolstering cooperation between Cairo and Vienna.

The vice president expressed hope that efforts of the Egyptian Austrian Business Council (EABC) and meetings between businessmen of both countries would contribute to increasing exports between Egypt and Austria.

On Wednesday, Shoukry started an official visit to Vienna for talks on bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments. He will wind up the visit on Saturday.
