The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, today visited the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF).
Upon arrival, the Deputy King was received by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF and Lt-General Yousif bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, Minister of Defence Affairs, as well as a number of senior officers.
The Deputy King praised the professionalism of the BDF, noting that, through the support of His Majesty King Hamad, the BDF plays a valued and vital role defending the country’s sovereignty and supporting justice.
The Deputy King highlighted the importance of continuing to develop Bahrain’s armed forces, providing the BDF with the latest defence systems to ensure it continues to work alongside the Kingdom’s allies to strengthen regional stability.
The Deputy King commended the sacrifices made by members of the BDF, noting that the BDF has become a model of loyalty, sacrifice, efficiency and effectiveness.
During his visit, the Deputy King was briefed on current strategies, future plans, and development and armament programmes to enhance the capabilities of BDF personnel and provide them with the highest level of training.
The Deputy King expressed his gratitude to the BDF for their ongoing efforts and contributions to the security of the region.
