Minister of Defense and Military Production Sedki Sobhi attended on Monday tactical project Thunder 25 (Ra'ad 25) carried out with live ammunition by an army unit in the western military zone.

The exercise is part of the annual plan for combat training of Armed Forces formations.

The main stage of the exercise tackled training on clearing border areas from the terrorist groups and securing the border area.

The defense minister praised the distinguished performance of the soldiers for maintaining the national security of the homeland, saying the Egyptian people appreciate their sacrifices.

Minister Sobhi called on the soldiers and officers of the western zone to be cautious and ready for any combat operation to face the threats posed to the country's national security.

The drill was attended by chief of staff Mahmoud Hegazy and the commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces.
