Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam returned home on Saturday from China.
Namnam attended the closing ceremony of the Egyptian-Chinese culture year, which was held at Guangzhou opera house.
Namnam said that he agreed with his Chinese counterpart that the Egyptian-Chinese culture year will be a start for cultural cooperation between the two countries in the various spheres.
He also said the Chinese minister asked him to convey the request of China to establish a Chinese cultural center in the new administrative capital.
Namnam, meanwhile, hailed the outcome of the culture year in enhancing and promoting ties between the two countries in the various spheres.
