Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was granted early release from prison on Thursday morning and is set to be released on July 2, Ha'aretz newspaper reported.
The prosecution opposed the decision to commute his sentence by one-third, and requested that its implementation be delayed.
Olmert began serving a 27-month sentence on charges including fraud and bribery in February 2016.
Olmert was hospitalized last week after feeling unwell and returned to prison on Tuesday.
