Canadian Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan visited on Monday Abu Dhabi’s Wahat Al Karama, the national landmark built to immortalise the sacrifices of the brave heroes of the UAE.
The Canadian minister was received by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office (MFAO) in the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.
The visit began with the Guards of Honour performing a ceremony, after which Sajjan laid a wreath of flowers before the Memorial, a monument made up of 31 massive aluminum panels leaning on one another in a symbol of solidarity between the people and the leadership of the UAE.
Accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sajjan toured the site’s prominent areas, before concluding his visit by signing the visitors’ log and paying homage to the UAE heroes for their noble sacrifices and inspirational bravery in the face of adversities.
