Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb left here on Wednesday heading for the Chechen capital, Grozny, leading a high-ranking delegation comprising Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam, President of Azhar University Prof. Ibrahim al Hudhud and other Azhar officials.
During his stay, Tayyeb is to meet with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov to discuss ways of boosting bilateral cooperation between Al Azhar and Chechnya, including training and qualifying Chechen imams and clerics and allowing Chechen students to study in Al Azhar institutions.
Also, he will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of an Islamic conference titled " Who Are Ahl al-Sunnah Wa'l Jamaa'ah" in the presence of a galaxy of Muslim scholars from around the world.
