Al Azhar Grand Imam and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders Ahmed el Tayyeb returned home on Friday from Abu Dhabi, UAE, after a several days' visit to attend the fourth meeting of dialogue between Elders of the East and the West.

During the visit, Tayyeb met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed appreciation for Egypt's government and people and lauded the role of Al Azhar in countering the extremist thoughts and spreading the moderate teachings of Islam.
