Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit left Cairo for Tajikistan on Sunday on a two-day visit to take part in the second session of the Forum for Arab Economy and Cooperation with Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan.
The form will kick off on Monday in Dushanbe.
Foreign and finance ministers of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan will take part in the event.
Arab League spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said the meeting is part of efforts to promote relations between Arab states and central Asian republics, especially in the economic and investment domains
The two sides will also discuss cooperation the fields of terror combat and energy, as well as issues of mutual concern at regional and international arenas.
The Arab League chief had received an invitation to attend the gathering from Tajikistan ambassador in Cairo Khesro Nazer.
The ministers of foreign affairs, economy and fiance of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan will take part in the meeting as well as Arab financial institutions.
