Information Affairs Minister, Alii bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has expressed deep pride in the Al-Najma Club’s winning the 20th Asian Handball Clubs League Championship and their well-deserved qualification for the World Handball Clubs Championship.
The exploit adds to the landmark achievements attained by the kingdom in various sports competitions at the GCC, Arab, Asian and international levels thanks to the constant support of the leadership for Bahraini athletes, out of its belief in the importance of sport in preparing creative youth competencies, and in fostering friendship and peace among peoples and civilisations.
The minister congratulated the Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Youth Council and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the Al-Najma Club’s prestigious title, which happened a few days after his qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship which will be held in Hawaii in October 2018, wishing HH Shaikh Nasser and Bahraini clubs and athletes further success, in light of HM King Hamad’s support.
Al-Romaihi commended the efforts of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Handball Association, chaired by Ali Isa Ishaqi, which led to clinching the honourable and first-of-its-kind title by Bahraini handball teams, noting that the exploit adds to BHA’s achievements at the GCC, Arab, Asian and international levels.
The minister also extended congratulations to the Board of Directors, led by Isa Hassan Al-Qattan, administrative and technical staff, players and supporters of the Al-Najma Sports and Cultural Club for the historic win and qualification for the World Handball Clubs Championship (Super Globe), wishing the team every success.
Al-Romaihi affirmed that the kingdom will continue attaining more achievements in various sports thanks to its qualified national competencies, and the keenness of everybody to raise the kingdom’s banners at various sports gatherings during the prosperous era of HM the King and his government.
