Representatives Council Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani today lauded the values embedded in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa AK Khalifa's keynote address to the nation marking the National and Accession days, reflecting HM the King's constant keenness to promote patriotic feelings among citizens and safeguard their rights and resolve to carry on the reform march steadily. Al Dhahrani commended HM the King's directives to the government to speed up the implementation of the recommendations featuring in the final report of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), which, he said, testifies to HM King Hamad's willingness to push the reform march forward and ensure a brighter future for the kingdom and strong belief in the need to meet the citizens' aspirations, asserting that HM the King's wise approach and landmark reforms have been widely supported by all social spectra. He also pointed out that HM the King's call for a national dialogue that engaged all parties in the kingdom is a living proof of the wise leadership's commitment to enhancing national partnership and popular participation in the decision-making process, stressing that the kingdom is making remarkable steps in the path of reform in all fields, particularly regarding the respect of human rights and dignity, as outlined by the international standards. In the same statement, Al Dhahrani congratulated those honoured by HM the King during the National Day celebrations, noting that the honouring reflects HM King Hamad's appreciation of the efforts exerted by those honorable citizens in tribute for their dedication in the service of the nation. He also indicated that the Legislative Branch is carrying out its legislative and auditing role transparently and professionally, and is cooperating with the government in order to translate the wise leadership's directives to enhance democracy and development in the kingdom. Al Dhahrani also stressed the need to enhance national reconciliation and cohesion, promote national fundamentals, safeguard hard-won national achievements and maintain the reform march, in line with HM the King's call for the need to support a state of law and institutions in which the values of peaceful co-existence and tolerance are respected and dedicated citizens are honoured.
