His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received here this evening Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, who is on a two-day state visit to the UAE during which he will attend the country’s 45th National Day anniversary celebrations.
During the meeting, he discussed with the Egyptian President ways to deepen relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.
The Abu Dhabi Crown prince welcomed President el-Sisi and the delegation accompanying him, saying that the visit would further contribute to strengthening fraternal ties between the two countries, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He expressed his happiness over the visit of President el-Sisi and others who would share the joy of celebrating the UAE’s 45th National Day anniversary.
President el-Sisi extended his greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and said he was proud of his country’s strong fraternal bonds with the UAE.
The meeting touched on fraternal co-operation in political, economic and developmental fields, in the light of shared interests that would further develop mutually beneficial relations.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is constantly working to strengthen its deep-rooted ties with Egypt, the foundation of which was laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, on the principles of fraternity, co-operation and co-ordination on both bilateral and Arab issues. He stressed the importance of growing such vital strategic relations at all levels and wished the Egyptian people further progress and prosperity.
President el-Sisi praised the tremendous progress made by the UAE, saying the country had become a model for other Arab nations in terms of achieving comprehensive development. He wished the government and the people of the UAE further progress.
He also applauded the UAE’s constructive role in support of the Arab issues, especially those related to security, stability and development.
President el-Sisi said it is important for Egypt to continue developing bilateral ties with the UAE in all domains, adding that the current phase requires strengthening Arab solidarity to enable the Arab world to address all challenges ahead.
The meeting also reviewed regional and international developments and topics of mutual interest.
The two sides stressed the importance of building an Arab strategy that would ensure facing the challenges, rallying efforts and stepping up co-ordination to maintain the region’s security and stability.
