H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, headed, on Thursday, the 19th meeting of the Education and Human Resources Council in Abu Dhabi.
At the start of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah approved the minutes of the 18th meeting while Jameela Al Muheiri, Minister of State for Public Education, reviewed the results of a schools’ assessment in 2017, where the Ministry of Education evaluated 314 public schools in Dubai and the northern regions.
The report also included the key findings on the quality of academic achievements, student learning skills, the quality of teaching and school leadership. It also reviewed the Ministry of Education’s next steps, which will focus on evaluating all private schools in the northern regions and kindergartens next year.
Al Muheiri also reviewed the country’s skills and innovation strategy, which includes seven major topics, with eight skills and features being based on the UAE’s future strategy and the UAE Centennial.
The meeting was also attended by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development; Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development; Jameela Al Muheiri; Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills; Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Education and Knowledge Authority, along with other officials
