Abdullah Al Qasimi chairs Sharjah Executive Council meeting

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, today chaired a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council.

The council discussed several government matters of importance and reviewed infrastructure development projects, with the aim of providing a decent life for local citizens and residents.

After approving the minutes of its previous meeting, the council issued Resolution No. 22 of 2017 on organising nursing services for patients in Sharjah.

The resolution, which aims to promote the health of patients, stated that the Social Services Department will provide nursing services to patients for free, according to standard procedures. It should also identify if patients are entitled to the service after reviewing the medical reports of each case, as well as the required conditions for receiving the service.

The council viewed a visual presentation on Sharjah’s economic indexes and their outcomes in 2016. Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, SEDD, stated that the department is performing economic studies on the main indexes and their outcomes, including the demand on the emirate’s markets, price inflation, the growth rate of business permits and local GDP.

The SEDD’s report should signal the steady growth of many local economic activities, to comply with the comprehensive development plans of various local sectors.

The Sharjah Executive Council also approved a draft law on organising local municipality, agriculture and livestock affairs, and directed for the draft law to be presented to the Sharjah Consultative Council.

The meeting’s agenda included Administrative Resolution No. 09 of 2017 on the establishment of the Management Board of Sharjah Sports Club. The council congratulated H.H.
