The Pink Caravan Ride (PCR) continues its 2016 journey today (Tuesday), on the second day of its sixth annual ride, from Al Dhaid Hospital to Masafi hospital. The 2016 journey was launched yesterday (Monday) and ends on March 17. It is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the slogan “Soldiers of Pink Hope”. The initiative aims to spread awareness about breast cancer and about the importance of early detection and as well as offering free clinical examinations and screenings all across the UAE.
Riders will participate in today’s ride (Tuesday), aiming to spread awareness and hope. Today’s ride will kick-off from Al Dhaid Hospital at 09:00am, and ends at Masafi hospital at 4:30 pm, cutting 21.5 km.
The mobile clinics will offer breast cancer early detection checks to the public, from all nationalities at the selected points in each emirate and its cities. Today (Tuesday), the clinics are open from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm at Al Majaz Waterfront, Dibba Al Fujairah, Masafi Al Fujairah and the mobile medical clinic will be Al Kalbaa hospitals.
Scientific facts proved that early detection is the key to fight breast cancer. 98% of early detected breast cancer cases were successfully treated and completely cured.
Pink Caravan initiative is calling for the UAE community; both women and men, to take advantage of the free medical services offered at its clinics, and to contribute to the fight against breast cancer, through encouraging their family and friends to undergo these free examinations.
