Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) and Head of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, has lauded the progress taking place in the UAE-Romanian ties and cooperation, thanks to the keenness of the two countries' leadership to boost these and tap the tremendous opportunities for constructive partnerships.
Sheikha Lubna said the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was eager to strengthen its relations with other countries and develop partnerships and vibrant cooperation with them.
Sheikha Lubna was speaking during a meeting yesterday with the Romanian Minister of Economy, Trade and Tourism, Mihai Tudose, who is leading a high-profile official economic and developmental delegation on a visit to the UAE, about the prominent standing the UAE occupies in the international humanitarian work, its active role in supporting international development causes and its response to humanitarian appeals to assist those affected by crises and catastrophes. Sheikh Lubna also reviewed the successful efforts being made by the UAE to deliver on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and its engagement in talks regarding the post-2015 Development Agenda.
For his part, the Romanian minister commended the UAE's national development strategies and its outstanding place among advanced nations as well as its contributions to international development efforts.
He expressed Romania's desire to advance partnership ties with the UAE in various fields.
