Concerns over lamb burgers

Concerns over lamb burgers Halal lamb burgers have been taken off the menu at schools in the English city of Leicester after traces of pork were found in the food, Metro has reported. The local council has confirmed that further DNA tests are now being carried out on the burgers. The initial test was carried out on a sample burger from a batch made by a Doncaster-based company in January.
Halal products are served in 24 schools in Leicester but the burgers have been supplied to only 19 schools.
The Federation of Muslim Organisations said legal action should be taken against the supplier.
Suleman Nagdi told Sky News: "A prosecution would be in the public interest and would send a clear message to all businesses in this sector that contamination will not be tolerated."
