Hackers target SANA for coverage
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) website on Saturday was attacked in a move the state run news agency said wanted to \"prevent the media from conveying the truth of events and unmasking the conspiracy hatched against Syria\".
After the failure of several attempts to hack the website and publish news on it, foreign hackers targeted the website with a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack).
The SANA logo was also removed and replaced with \"provocative\" advertisements in English and Arabic.
On June 27, an alleged rebel group attacked the al-Ikhbariya Satellite TV Channel headquarters, ransacking it and blowing up the studio.
SANA publishes its news in seven languages: English, French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic.
