To celebrate the two companies' long-running working relationship, which can be traced back to the first ever Lamborghini -- the 350 GTV -- Lamborghini has taken its already rather exclusive flagship hypercar and made it a little rarer still.
As the name suggests, the Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition comes with its special 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in equally special versions of Pirelli's P Zero tires.
It also gets a choice of two two-tone exterior paint finishes. Owners will be able to specify the car with a matte black roof, pillars, wing mirrors, and air intakes along with a contrasting gloss finish for the body. Or they can plump for a gloss black roof and pillars and contrast it with a matte body finish.
Regardless of two-tone finish, all cars will feature a thin red pin-striping detail that follows the roofline contour, and engine bay and outlines the front air intakes and the wing mirrors.
The red accents continue on the inside. The cabin is dressed in black Alcantara with contrasting red stitching while the red pinstripe runs across the roof's interior.
A rather subtle and tasteful limited edition for Lamborghini, known as a "look at me" supercar brand, though all of the things that make the car a special model are cosmetic.
The Pirelli edition Aventador is completely stock under the hood, featuring the same 691bhp V12 engine. Still it's capable of catapulting the car from a standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in 2.9 seconds and on to an official top speed of 350km/h (217mph).
Lamborghini is taking orders for the special edition now in both hard-top and convertible ‘roadster' forms and the first deliveries will be made in the summer of 2015.
