This floating lake house by Altius Architecture inspires harmony throughout. Especially envisioned as a holiday home for the owners, the lovely cabin features a two-stall boathouse, built-in Kayak racks, and storage space for various
water sports equipment Occupying an isolated waterfront site, the dwelling maximizes its privileged location. According to the architects, the project “carves into the pitched roof tradition of the area and extends views out towards the lake, taking a modern twist on the established building typology“.
This spectacular environment dictates a holiday atmosphere within the interiors of the floating lake house, making it welcoming all year long. Yet the design scheme comes with some remarkable features of its own. The main material employed is wood, ensuring an inviting cottage-like feeling. Despite a minimalist approach, each room exhibits a high level of comfort. The core of the residence is a charming living room combining maritime and woodland-inspired elements, with windows on three sides overlooking the lake.
