Tunisian actress Dorra has said that she excels in playing ordinary Egyptian girls because she managed to accomplish pulling off the Egyptian accent. The actress said she played each character differently; her
role of 'Wanisa' in the film "Al Oula fe El Gharam" (First in Love) was quite different to her portrayal of 'Samah' in the film "Al Aar" (Shame). In "Adam", she played the role of a girl who falls in love with her neighbour, a part she had not performed before.
Dorra told Arabstoday the reason she picked the roles was because she felt it brought her closer to the Egyptian people.
"Several directors offered me similar roles, but I refused," she said.
"The audience will soon be suprised by what I next have to offer...starting from my new film 'Mosawer Kateel' (Cameraman Dead)," she said. In the film, she plays the role of a psychologist, a fary cr from her usual roles as the girl-next-door.
Dorra revealed that the film had a thrilling, mysterious theme to it, but refused to elaborate further.
Meanwhile, she said she was still filming the series "Zai El Ward" (Like Roses); a press conference on the series will be held in Beirut, next Tuesday. The series revolves around a young man (Ali) who led a difficult life and suffered psychological and social problmes due to his circumstances.
Dorra also said she was waiting to resume shooting the flm "Baba" (Papa).
