In a bid to boost their economy, The United Arab Emirates is holding the fourth Tourism and Investment Forum to promote the Gulf countries.

, launched the event on Tuesday.
The forum focuses on developing tourism in the states of the Gulf in an effort to create a whole new range of investment opportunities. The event also aims to enhance relations between Gulf countries in order to create attractive destinations in these challenging times.
Tunisian Minister of Tourism Elys Fakhfakh boasted on the unique “Tunisian experience” which he considered to be the Arab model in tourism, while the Malaysian Tourism Minister said his country was the international model for tourism.
The forum focused on Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates as a new tourist destination able to overcome the global financial crisis. The city is located by the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean, making it an ideal location for tourism. Fujairah has been revamped for the last two years in order to attract investors.
The event will then focus on the media and international standards of tourism.
