Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi received his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir on Sunday. During their meeting, they exchanged views on the course of events in the two countries, and tackled the regional and Arab issues of common interest.
The Presidential spokesman Yasser Ali said in his press statements: “The meeting tackled methods to develop strategic relations between Egypt and Sudan in the interest of the two countries, and expand partnership between Egypt and Sudan.\"
He affirmed that the meeting witnessed the discussions of issues of mutual cooperation, food security, and the two sides agreed to increase the volume of Egypt\'s imports of Sudanese meat. In addition to that, the two Presidents ordered prompt establishment and inauguration of the land route between the two countries.
It has also been agreed in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Kandil, to open a branch of the National Bank of Egypt in Sudan next Thursday.
Ali explained that the President discussed during the meeting, several activities in order to develop industries, establish industrial cities, expand the training activity between the two countries, and the establishment of specialised training centres in the two countries.
The two presidents discussed the trade volume between the two countries and promoting Egyptian and Sudanese investors, pointing out that the visit of the delegation will continue until Monday, and a joint statement will be issued at the end of this visit.
