Unemployment has risen by 3.2% in rural areas
The rate of unemployment in Morocco has risen to 8.8 percent in the second quarter of 2013, officials have confirmed

According to figures released by the High Planning Delegation, the number of individuals unemployed has tipped over the one million mark.
There was a 13.8 percent increase in unemployment in Moroccan cities, with a 3.2 percent rise noted in villages.
The authority said that 1,049,000 were unemployed in Morocco in the second quarter of 2013, up from 949,000 in 2012.
The Moroccan economy created 144,000 jobs during the first half of 2013, 63,000 in urban areas and 81,000 in rural regions. About 136 jobs were created in the agricultural sector, 37,000 in the industry sector and 38,000 in the construction sector.
