Money will be used to improve water pumps in Jordan
Jordan has signed a €22.8m soft loan agreement with France.
Under plans, French money will be given to a Jordanian water company for the maintenance of Jordan's drinking water network, in northern areas of the country.The
proposals also include improving the efficiency of water pumping stations.
The deal was signed by Jordan's Planning Minister, Jafar Hassan and French ambassador Corinne Breuze. Speaking to the media, Hassan praised France for its support in the growth of a vital part of Jordan.
The money will be paid over a 15-year period, with a fixed annual interest rate of 0.05 percent. It has a flexible grace period of six years.
