The International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX, is the best platform in the region to showcase products, and provides excellent networking opportunities and avenues to international companies to their business, an exhibitor said.

"So we are looking forward to all kind of business activities," he told WAM at the opening day of the IDEX, 2015.
"We have come to showcase like all others what products we are making and we have come with the major aim to invite our friends, to sell them the quality product at most economical price." About potential buyers in the Middle East, he said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the biggest potential buyers, saying, "We have our programme and are negotiating with them for various naval cooperation, but at the same time we are talking to them regarding their maritime sector as well for survey vessels and other harbour crafts." The Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works said, "This is our maiden appearance in the Naval Defence Exhibition, NAVDEX, and we are currently constructing the fleet tanker, which is a 17-thousand tonnes smart ship for Pakistan Navy, and we have just started construction of Missile craft.
"We have already built one missile craft which is in use with Pakistan Navy. One of the Missile craft is also participating in NAVDEX.
"Apart from that, the Karachi shipyard is a unique yard and we have the capability to construct surface vessels, sub-surface vessels like submarines and at the same time we cater to the maritime sector as well. In this sector we provide all harbour craft, auxiliary crafts to Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim Authority," he concluded.
