The Egyptian Museum opened its doors at night for the first time for visitors on Sundays and Thursdays upon a decision from Antiquities Minister Khaled el-Anani.
On both days of the week, the museum is open at nigh shifts from 6 to 10pm.
Speaking during a night visit to the museum, the minister said the decision will increase the number of visitors.
Opening the museum, located in the center of Tahrir Sqaure, at night also asserts for the world that Egypt is safe, he added.
