ENPPI footballer Saleh Gomaa

ENPPI footballer Saleh Gomaa Egyptian football's financial crisis has forced several young footballers to leave their native country and scour the European scene for new opportunities. ENPPI youngster Saleh Gomaa is currently on trial at German outfit Borussia Dortmund, where he's hopeful of securing a short-term contract.
The 20-year old has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Anderlecht and Arsenal, but has his heart set on signing for a German team.
Gomaa's ENPPI teammate Ahmed Refaat is set for a trial with Spanish club Sevilla, after spending some time at Swiss side FC Basel. The 19-year old midfielder trained with fellow Egyptians Mohamed Salah and Mohamed El-Nenny at Basel, and is hopeful of returning to Switzerland in the near future.
Al-Ahly's Mahmoud Hassan, commonly known as Trezeguet, has been offered a trial by Belgian club Standard Liege. However, the Cairo-based club's officials have turned down the approach, due to their domestic and regional footballing commitments.
Trezeguet enjoyed a brief spell at French team Nice last month.
Egyptian football officials have urged players to look for opportunities abroad, so that their clubs can benefit financially and the players can maintain their fitness levels to help the national team.
