Zamalek coach Jorvan Vieira is not confident about EPL return
Vice-president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), Hassan Farid is dismayed at statements made by Zamalek’s coach Jorvan Vieira about the return of the Egyptian Premier League
.In a recent press conference, Vieira told reporters, "if February became 31 days, the league will return."
Farid thinks the mocking remarks should not come from the coach of a "major Egyptian club," adding that the footballing fraternity must come together and cooperate for the return of the domestic league in Egypt.
He also accused Vieria of underestimating the "great efforts" made by the EFA management to bring back the competition after a one-year suspension following the Port Said Stadium disaster.
Farid promised that the Premier League will resume at the chosen date. "We are currently making the necessary arrangements after we received approval from the Interior Minister,” he said, adding that a meeting was held with the panel of referees to end all the problems before resumption."
Farid said that changing the Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal el-Din in the reshuffle to appoint Major General Muhammad Ibrahim will not affect the return of the league, confirming that the EFA is in contact with the new minister..
