BIC is the home of Bahrain F1 Grand Prix
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is all set to host one of its biggest karting events of the year when the 24-hour challenge takes place March 8 and 9 at its VIVA Karting Track in
Sakhir, BNA reports.
The challenge will be a grueling test of each driver’s skills, physical fitness, and mental toughness, as well as their ability to work with a team in a pressure-packed environment.
To add to that, they will be battling each other over while also taking on nature and the elements – things that will be completely out of their control.
The event is being organised by the Bahrain Karting Club in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, BIC and VIVA Karting Track.
The challenge is open to teams of a minimum of four drivers and a maximum of 10. Competitors must be aged 15 years and above. There will be 24 spots available for teams in the challenge.
Action will be held along the 1.414-kilometre Commission International de Karting (CIK) Track, and teams will be supplied with Sodi RX7 karts to compete in, each of which boasts a powerful 270cc engine, ensuring plenty of exciting action.
The challenge will kick start with practices on Friday March 8, followed by qualifying on the same day. The race will then start promptly at 1.30pm, and end 24 hours later at 1.30pm on March 9 (Saturday).
The upcoming 24-hour challenge will be the first of its duration to be held at VIVA Karting Track since it first officially opened to the public in April of 2011. Other endurance events have been held in the past, including 12-hour races, six-hour events and two-hour challenges.
