Battles continue in the eastern fronts of Damascus

Battles continue in the eastern fronts of Damascus, including Qabon and Barza Gardens, as the opposition factions managed to liberate a large number of buildings and killed over 30 elements of the governmental troops loyal to Syria’s President Bashar Al Assad. They also undermined two tanks in Qabon district during their attempt to achieve advance in the areas controlled by the opposition parties.

Syrian fighter jets launched attack on the districts of Teshreen, Qabon, and Barza in coincidence with artillery attacks on the strongholds of the opposition parties. Video carried on Lebanese TV and shared on social media showed the pre-dawn airstrikes caused a fire around the airport east of the Syrian capital, suggesting fuel sources or weapons containing explosives were hit.

Syrian state media said Israeli missiles hit a military position southwest of the airport, but did not mention arms or fuel. It said “Israeli aggression” had caused explosions and some material losses, but did not expand on the damage. Israel does not usually comment on action it takes in Syria. But Intelligence Minister Israel Katz, speaking to Army Radio from the United States, appeared to confirm involvement.

In Idlib, the Russian warplanes targeted the area of ​​Jabal al-Duwailah west of the city of Kuftakharim in the midnight, resulting in the martyrdom of 14 people, and the fall of many of the wounded. In the province of Daraa, the air force launched air raids on the districts of Daraa al-Balad and the city of Busra al-Sham, while the towns of Giza and Ayadoudeh and the area between the city of Hara and the towns of Zumrin and Aqraba came under intermittent artillery shelling, while the fighters of the opposition factions combed the strongholds of the army of Khaled bin Walid, belonging to IS organization, on the outskirts of the town of Adwan in the western countryside.
