The State of Qatar today strongly condemned the attack on the Saudi embassy and its consulate in Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the attack represented a blatant violation of the Vienna 1961 Convention on Consular Relations.

The ministry called on the Iranian government to provide the necessary protection to diplomatic missions and take the suitable legal measures against those responsible for the attack.

The statement also stressed the Qatar's support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting all threats, backing all measures it takes to protect its security and stability.
