Palestine participated in the sixth tourism festival that was held in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, through posters, folkloric material and a newsletter about tourism in Palestine written in Portuguese, a foreign ministry statement said on Monday. This marks the first participation for Palestine in such a festival, making it the only country from outside the Latin continent participating in it. Palestine’s ambassador to Brazil, Ibrahim Al-Zabin, presented officials visiting the festival Palestinian gifts. He discussed with energy officials the possibility of training Palestinians in the field of energy, and invited officials specialized in water and energy to visit Palestine in the next few months. The Palestinian officials also discussed the mayor and the deputy mayor of Foz do laguacu the possibility of twinning between their city and the city of Jericho in the West Bank. The visit also involved planting a tree in the name of Palestine in Itaipu natural reserve, where the world most important waterfalls are found, a visit to Ornella University, which presented two full scholarships to Palestinian student, in addition to a number of press conferences with the local media, and meetings with both the Palestinian and Arab communities in the city.
