Khaled Abol Naga

The Arab Film Festival Amman was held between 4 and 11 July,  screenings eight movies from seven Arab countries.

The opening film was Ahmad Abdalla's Decor screened in the presence of the director and leading actor Khaled Abol-Naga.

Both, Abdalla and Abol-Naga also joined a discussion with the audience after the screening. Moreover, the organiser of the festival, the Royal Film Commission Jordan, has released interviews with the director and the leading actor on their official YouTube channel.

Abdalla's black and white feature stars also Horreya Farghaly and Maged El-Kedwany and it had its Arab world premier in Cairo during the Cairo International Film Festival earlier in November.

Decor's international premier was at the BFI London Film Festival in October 2014 when it was screened within the event's Love Section.

Abdalla is one of the most prominent young filmmakers who over the past few years has made a number of important cinematic works that attracted local and international audiences.

This year's Arab Film Festival Amman also included screening of Cairo Time, a film directed by Amir Ramses, featuring Nour El-Sharif, Mervat Amin and Samir Sabry.

The Egyptian presence was additionally complemented with Ramy Abdel-Razek holding film discussions as well as a workshop on film criticism.

Held annually in Amman, the festival is organised by the Royal Film Commission - Jordan (RFC) and under the patronage of Jordan's Minister of Culture

According to RFC, the festival aims at hosting the Directors and Actors to introduce and discuss their pictures. It gives the public the opportunity to express opinions and exchange perspectives.

The festival has free of charge screenings and is open to the public at the RFC’s outdoor theater.
